A transcript is a chronological listing of all Minnesota State University, Mankato coursework taken by a student.

Also included on a transcript are:

  • Degrees earned from Minnesota State University, Mankato and other institutions
  • Transfer credit amounts
  • Cumulative credit totals and grade point averages

There are two types of transcripts:

  • Unofficial - labeled as such (generally used on campus by students and advisors)
  • Official - labeled as such and stamped with the University seal (generally used to send to places outside the University)

UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS are free and may be ordered through the Campus Hub in the Centennial Student Union.

Requests can be made:

via the web (Campus Hub unofficial transcripts)

Unofficial transcripts can be picked up by the student at the Campus Hub with proper identification. Refer to the Campus Hub's information page on unofficial transcripts for more detailed information.

 

Students themselves can print a listing of all their Minnesota State University, Mankato courses and their credit totals via the web. This is accomplished by logging into the web system (www.mnsu.edu/eservices) and taking the Grades and Transcripts option in the left menu. Choosing Academic Record will produce a document on the screen that can be printed using the button at the end of the listing.

 

IF YOU NEED AN OFFICIAL MINNESOTA STATE UNIVERSITY, MANKATO TRANSCRIPT SENT TO A MINNESOTA STATE COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY,

that institution will be able to pull your transcript through the MnSCU system free of charge.  Please contact that institution directly for further information.

AN IMPORTANT POINT TO NOTE: If you need an official Minnesota State University, Mankato transcript sent to any MnSCU institution for purposes of employment, they will require a PAPER document. If this is the case, make this clear when ordering the transcript and we will send such a document via U.S. mail. If you are applying for employment at Minnesota State University, Mankato, a paper official transcript is also required. Please indicate on your transcript request that you need it sent to OUR Human Resources Office for employment purposes. (In either case, if you attended Minnesota State University, Mankato before 1975, you will need to request a printed official transcript from our institution.)

 

OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS can be ordered from the National Student Clearinghouse

 

Current students should use the NSC's Student Self-Service website, while alumni can access this service via the web at the Student Clearinghouse website. The website allows students and alumni to order official transcripts securely at any time convenient for them. All transcript ordering steps are fully automated and the status of an order can be tracked. Automatic order updates are sent to students via email. This service also provides students the capability of ordering multiple transcripts from multiple institutions in one order. The cost of an official Minnesota State University, Mankato transcript ordered from the National Student Clearinghouse is as follows:

By Mail:  $5.00 per transcript plus their additional $2.25 processing fee, for a total of $7.25.

Official transcripts can be picked up by the student themselves, with proper identification, or mailed to an address specified by the student.

 

Official transcript requests are not taken via telephone or email and will not be sent if a student has any fiscal holds.

  • social security number
  • tech ID
  • current and/or former name
  • birth date
  • dates of attendance at Minnesota State University, Mankato
  • current mailing address
  • daytime telephone number
  • signature authorizing the request
  • address to which the transcript is to be sent
  • number of transcripts needed
  • $5.00 per transcript requested
  • if paying by credit card (VISA, MasterCard, Discover), the credit card number and expiration date
  • email address (this will be used to notify you if your transcript is mailed to an address other than your own)

If you need your official transcript to reflect your current name, a copy of your legal documentation for the name change must be included with your request. Legal documentation can be either a marriage certificate, divorce decree, or driver's license. Without this documentation, you will receive an official transcript with the name that is currently in our records.

Normal processing time for official transcript requests is one week.
