GRANT PROPOSAL GUIDELINES
Guidelines for Receiving A Grant- A limited number of awards are available and applications will be judged on merit by a faculty committee.
- A student may only receive one grant per academic year either as a primary investigator or as a member of a research or creative team.
- A faculty mentor can have one large URC grant award per year.
- A faculty mentor can have an unlimited number of small URC grant awardees per academic year.
- You must specify on the Funding Application if you are applying for the Minnesota State Foundation Student Research Award, URC large grant, URC small grant, or all three.
Specific Guidelines
Creative Projects: These projects focus on encouraging and motivating the students to work with devices of personal expression.
Example: art exhibitions, dance recitals,
musical performances, etc.
Guidelines Application
Example: scientific inquiry, historical analysis, computer simulations, etc.

Note: Successful projects have been concise and funds are requested for specific items or support clearly needed
to achieve project goals. "Fundable" items include consumable supplies and
other necessary materials that are unavailable at the university.
*Supplies do not include equipment such as computers, hard drives, etc. Any equipment purchased with URC funding becomes URC property upon completion of the project.*
TIPS FOR SUCCESS: BE CONCISE, ADDRESS ALL ASPECTS REQUESTED IN THE DESCRIPTION, INCLUDE AN EXACT BUDGET AND PROOF-READ THE FINAL COPY.
