
The residence communities close for Winter Break at 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 14. The residence communities reopen for returning students at 8:00 a.m. Friday, January 11. Food service ends on December 14 at 1:30 p.m. and begins again at 11:00 a.m. on January 11.
Winter Break begins at 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 14. The residence communities will close at that time. Breakfast and lunch will be the only meals served on Friday. There will be limited service available in the Student Union during the Winter Break period. Students are advised to remove any valuables from their rooms for the duration of the break. No students will be allowed access to the residence communities over break unless previous arrangements have been made with the Department of Residential Life.
A staff member will be checking your room during closing procedures to help secure the building. If policy violations are observed while staff are securing the building, staff will document the violation and will follow-up when the resident returns.
The residence communities will open for spring semester at 8:00 a.m. Friday, January 11. The first meal served will be lunch.
Students returning to the residence communities spring semester may take advantage of break housing.
You may stay in your own room during the break. In order to do so, you must register with the Department of Residential Life by December 14.
Register in the Residential Life office between Monday, November 12 and Friday, December 7 to be eligible for the early sign-up rate of $300. Those who register after December 7 pay $350.
Register in the Residential Life office between Monday, November 12 and Friday, December 14. The Winter Break fee has already been included in the Stadium Heights apartment rate, so there is no additional charge to stay provided you register for Winter Break housing by December 14.
Students living in Julia Sears, Crawford, McElroy, Preska and Stadium Heights will be able to use their MavCARD to unlock specified doors in the buildings. Any student found staying in the residence communities during this period who has not made previous arrangements with the Department of Residential Life will be charged for the full rate plus an administrative fee and may be subject to disciplinary proceedings.
Only residents who are registered to stay in the resident communities over Winter Break may keep their cars in on-campus parking lots. If you are going home over break you must take your car with you or find other parking arrangements. Unregistered cars may be subject to towing.
Stadium Heights residents may keep their cars in the small parking lot in front of building 701 if they are registered.
If you plan to have a vehicle on campus AND you are planning to stay on campus during Winter Break, please bring the license plate number from your vehicle when you register.
