Renovated Spaces in Crawford


There are four halls of student housing in Crawford Residence Community: A, B, C, and D Halls. Many of the common interest floors available are located in the residence halls in Crawford Residence Community. For instance, the intercultural, upperclass student, community service, and quiet study floors are all housed in Crawford. Approximately 800 residents live in Crawford Residence Community and all rooms are wired for direct on-line access to the University's computer network. One of the dining halls, a computer lab, Chet's Place Coffee Shop and Convenience Store, the Student Health Service and the Office of Residential Life are located in Carkoski Commons, which is connected to Crawford Residence Community. Outdoor recreational fields adjacent to Crawford include a large grass field, several basketball courts and a sand volleyball pit.

QUIET STUDY FLOORS

The quiet study floors are available to all students regardless of their level of academic performance. These floors are designed to provide an anvironment that gives specific priority to quiet and academic activities. Until community standards are set, floor residents may add courtesy hours for time periods no greater than 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 a.m. Crawford C 2nd and 3rd floors.

RENOVATED INTERCULTURAL FLOORS

Open to all students, these two floors in Crawford Residence Community bring people together from different cultures and countries to learn from each other. Living in an environment that offers a global perspective can enhance students' understanding of themselves as well as their classroom learning. International business, foreign language, ethnic studies, education, international relations and political science majors are especially encouraged to consider these floors. The intercultural floors can be excellent preparation for anyone considering travel to a foreign country or study abroad. Crawford D 1st and 2nd floors.

RENOVATED UPPERCLASS STUDENT FLOORS

These common interest floors are offered for students who are 21 years of age or older by the beginning of the academic year or who have completed at least one academic year at a higher education institution. Crawford D 3rd and 4th floors.
