Your Housing Choices
While you’re making your housing decision, keep in mind
that at Minnesota State Mankato, the residence halls are a lot more than a place to sleep. The twelve residence halls are grouped into three residential areas: Julia Sears, Crawford, McElroy, and Gage. Each has distinctive characteristics, inspired in part by location, in part by design, and in part by the different cultural or academic living/learning programs housed within. Each offers services designed to make life on campus easier and more convenient.
Whether you prefer to live in the heart of campus, in a high-rise tower or a red brick residence hall, a semi-suite suite or a traditional room, Minnesota State Mankato offers a housing option to meet your needs and expectations. You can choose single-sex floor environments and coed residences halls as well as communities where students who share common interests live.
While many will choose to live as part of the general student population, some of you may want to select a common interest floor designated for students who share social identities, lifestyle preferences, or cultural bonds. Others may decide to participate in one of our first-year student programs--Maverick Hall or Learning Communities Your residential choices are extensive. Consider your interests, and indicate your preferences on your housing application. And rest assured that when you do arrive at Minnesota State Mankato, help will be on hand to make your transition to campus life as smooth as possible. Professional live-in staff and student staff will be waiting to welcome you to your new home away from home.
We hope to see you soon!
