Summer Housing is available for students enrolled in at least one summer course at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Space is limited and assignments are made on a first-come, first-served basis.

Interim 1 housing (Saturday, May 11- Friday, May 17) is available to students who were enrolled in the Spring Semester. Interim 2 Housing is available to students with a Fall housing contract who are also enrolled in a summer term.

Summer Housing Calendar  

When you register for Summer Housing, you will specify your beginning and end date living on campus. Contract dates are billed at a weekly rate (our billing runs Saturday through Friday).

  • May 11: First day of summer housing.
  • July 26: End of summer housing (if you do not have a fall housing contract).
  • August 21: Last day of summer housing.


Summer and Interim Housing will be housed in Crawford B Hall, which is a renovated hall that has air conditioners in each room. Each floor also contains a study lounge, floor kitchen, and a community bathroom.

Room Types  

Two types of rooms are available: Renovated Doubles and Renovated Singles. Single rooms are the same size as a double room and include two sets of furniture, even though one person is assigned to the room.


Maverick Summer Meal Plan

Summer Housing residents are eligible to select the Maverick Summer Dining Dollars Plan.  This plan includes $200 Dining Dollars that can be used at the University Dining Center or any other retail dining location on campus (including the CSU).  Unused Dining Dollars will roll over to Fall and Spring Semester.  Sign up for this meal plan in the Residential Life Office today!


Parking is free in Lot 14 green stalls.

Applying For Summer Housing   

  1. Complete the Summer Housing Application. Indicate your preference on the application regarding room type. Due to limited space, we cannot guarantee we will be able to honor your room type request or make a guarantee of roommate compatibility.
  2. Carefully read both sides of the Housing Contract. It is a binding agreement for the duration of the period indicated on your application. Sign and date the bottom of the contract.
  3. Return your Housing Application and the Housing Contract, along with your $100 prepayment, to the Residential Life Office (111 Carkoski Commons). You will receive a signed copy of the Housing Contract when you are notified of your room assignment and room type on or after April 20.

Rates and Payment

A $100 prepayment is due at the time of registration. The remaining balance is due per the payment option you arrange with Student Financial Services.

Contracts may be cancelled without financial obligation if the Resident provides written notice of cancellation at least two weeks prior to the start date of occupancy. Written notice of cancellation received less than two weeks prior to the start date of occupancy will result in a charge of $30.
