Moonlight BreakfastNeed a study break before finals? Sunday, December 4 from 10:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. Breakfast will be served in both Carkoski and Gage Dining Halls by your friendly neighborhood Hall Directors!
The residence halls close for Winter Break at 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 9. The halls reopen for returning students at 8:00 a.m. Friday, January 6.
You may stay in your room during the break if you register with the Department of Residential Life. Residents who register for break housing on or before December 2 qualify for the early rate of $280. After December 2, a registration fee of $305 will be charged.
Only residents who are registered to stay in the halls over Winter Break may keep their cars in on-campus parking lots. If you are going home over break you must take your car with you or find other parking arrangements. Unregistered cars may be subject to towing.
Suite Residents: Be Prepared for Winter Bathroom InspectionsResidents with in-room bathrooms can avoid potential cleaning charges by having bathrooms ready for Winter Break inspections. Bathrooms that do not meet the inspection guidelines will be cleaned by University staff, and roommates will be held jointly responsible for cleaning charges. If you are participating in graduation events or have a Saturday final, please contact your Area Director or complete your late check-out request online by Tuesday, December 6 to stay in your room until 5:00 p.m. Saturday, December 10.
If you would like to move to a different room for spring semester, submit your request to the front desk of your community by noon Friday, December 2. Please note that options are limited. If you are changing rooms for spring semester, you must move to your spring room before Winter Break begins. Room change opportunities resume Monday, January 23.
If you are currently living alone in a room for two residents (or there is a vacant space in your triple room), or if your current roommate is not returning for Spring Semester, you will be assigned a new roommate. So, before you leave for break, make sure that a bed, a desk, a desk chair, and closet space are avilable for your new roommate and that your room is clean. Failure to do so may resut in a minimum cleaning charge of $30.00 and a conduct hearing. The Department of Residential Life will notify you by e-mail over the break when you are assigned a roomate.
You can change your meal plan for Spring Semester to the Maverick Anytime, Maverick 160 or Maverick 14 meal plan. Please come to the Residential Life office early to complete a Meal Plan Change form or make your request online.
