Winter Welcome Week

Welcome Back!  Here are some of the campus events happening during your Winter Week to help you get connected, get involved and get excited.

Housing Next Year

Spring semester is a time to start seriously thinking about housing for next year.  While not every student can return to the residence halls next year, there are many options available near campus.  Student Activities hosts Housing Fairs each year to provide information about off-campus housing options for students.  The next housing fairs are scheduled for Wednesday, January 25 and Tuesday, February 28 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Centennial Student Union.  Students can also find out about off-campus housing options online at, including a list of Mankato apartment complexes and a searchable database.

ResTech Services

Many students return to campus spring semester with new electronic devices.  If you need help getting new devices connected to the Internet in the residence halls, help is just a phone call away!  ResTech services staff helps students living on campus with computer issues and getting connected.  Appointments can be set up with ResTech Services by calling the ITS Help Desk at 507-389-6654 or by email to

Residential Life 2012-2013 Student Staff Applications Available Now!

Forms and information are now available online for 2012-2013 Community Advisors (CA)/ Apartment Community Advisors (ACA) and Maverick Mentors.

CA/ACA applications should be submitted by 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, January 18 for priority consideration

Maverick Mentor applications are due by 4:30 p.m. Friday, February 3.

The information is posted on the Employment/Student Staff Positions link of the Residential Lie website.

Need to Change Your Meal Plan?

You can change your meal plan for Spring Semester to the Maverick Anytime, Maverick 160 or Maverick 14 meal plan.  Please come to the Residential Life office early to complete a Meal Plan Change form or make your request online.

Dining Options

Visit the newly remodeled Chet's Place in Carkoski Commons.  Chet's is a popular place for students to get a late night snack! Plus, now that Chet's is connected to the Carkoski Dining Hall, you can take advantage of the additional booth seating, flat screen tvs and lounge area.

Remember, you can eat in either the Gage or Carkoski Dining Halls, and you can use Flex Dollars to eat at the 1872 Grill in Julia Sears, Chet's Place in Carkoski Commons, and at MavAve in the Centennial Student Union.

Did  you know you can look online to see what's for dinner?  Or breakfast?  Or lunch?  View the daily menu for Gage and Carkoski Dining Halls.

Need to Request a Room Change?

The opportunity to request a change in your spring semester room assignment is coming up.  Monday, January 23 and Tuesday, January 24 are Spring Room Change Days.

If you'd like to request a change, stop by the Residential Life Office, 111 Carkoski Commons, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Approved changes will be processed on the spot.  After January 24, request a room change at the front desk of your community.
