Ready to Check Out?

Read your Spring Check-Out email and make plans for a smooth check out! The residence communities close at 7:00 p.m. on
Friday, May 10.  If you currently live in Crawford, McElroy, Preska, or Julia Sears Residence Communities make sure to double-check your permanent address on file - that's where we'll send your mail!  Everyone needs a check-out appointment!  Even if you are staying over the summer, we'll still check your room/living-unit. Still need an appointment? Contact your CA/ACA by Friday, May 3.

Last Day to Convert Maverick 160 Meals to Flex Dollars: April 30

Maverick 160 meals can be converted into Flex Dollars at a rate of $5.10 per meal, two times each semester. Your converted Flex Dollars can be utilized at any dining location on campus at any time of the day.  Converted Flex Dollars not used by the end of the semester are forfeited.

There are three ways you can convert:

Please allow up to three business days from the time your change is submitted for Maverick 160 Converted Flex Dollars to be available through your MavCARD. 

Math...Chemistry...Finals, Oh My!

Are you in one or more of the folowing classes?

  • Math 98 or 112
  • Chemistry 106, 111, or 201

Tutors from the Center for Academic Success will be available from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Monday, April 29 in Preska 126 to help you prepare for your finals. Bring your friends, hang out, and start to prepare for your finals! Free popcorn and pizza will also be provided by NRHH and the Maverick Mentor Program.

Anatomy Test 4 Review Session:
Join your peers at this faculty lead review session to prepare for test 4 in your anatomy class.

Move-Out Curbside Parking at Julia Sears

A specially designated curbside parking zone will be available for Julia Sears residents during Finals Week. A 45-minute move-out permit must be checked out to park in the curbside parking zone.

  • 45-minute permits will be available 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday of finals week, May 6 - May 10, at the Julia Sears front desk. You'll need your driver’s license, license plate number, and contact phone number.
  • Permits will be issued for designated areas only. All other locations are subject to normal parking restrictions (no parking areas, Gold lots, etc.)

Don't Throw It Away - ReStore It!

The Dumpster Diversion program keeps residents' discarded but useful items out of landfills by diverting them to area thrift stores. This popular program is a joint venture of several nonprofits including Habitat for Humanity/ReStore and MVAC Again Thrift & More Store.

Residents in all communities can do your part by bringing discarded items to one of four locations (on the map on your floor bulletin board) during these times:

  • Thursday, May 9, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Friday, May 10, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Moonlight Breakfast

Take a break from studying and join us at he Moonlight Breakfast on Sunday, May 5 from 10:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. in the Carkoski Dining Hall. MavCARDS will be scanned for admission – the breakfast counts as a regular meal. If you have the Maverick Flex plan, you can pay the door rate in Flex Dollars.

One Shirt Challenge Weighed in Big for Leadership Experience Class!

The Residential Life Leadership Experience class wrapped up their clothing drive last weekend. Students had the opportunity to participate through the donation bins provided by the class and through the One Shirt Challenge Run.  Thank you for your clothing donations.  Your generosity matters!

Area vs. Area Softball Tournament - Sign-up on the board in your lobby, or just come out and cheer, and have fun with inflatables and music. Winning Area gets RHA's infamous Traveling Trophy!  Plus, use a meal or flex dollars to join the tailgate party!

NRHH Hosts Food and School Supply Drive
Tuesday, April 30   6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
NRHH will be coming around the halls on Tuesday, April 30 collecting non-perishable food items and leftover school supplies.  Leave your door open if you would like them to stop by!

Earth Day/Flower Planting Day Moved to May 8
