Reserve Your 2015-2016 Housing Reservation Online

2015-2016 Housing Options and Reservation Applications are now being accepted for new entering students that have confirmed their 2015-2016 Admissions acceptance.

Sign up for Thanksgiving Break Housing Beginning Monday, November 10.

Sign up at the front desk of your residence community between November 10 and November 21 to stay in your room over Thanksgiving Break.

There is no charge to stay on campus during Thanksgiving Break.  The halls will be locked for the break at 7:00 p.m.  Wednesday, November 26 and will reopen at noon Sunday, November 30.  Food service ends on November 26 at 6:00 p.m. and begins again at 4:00 p.m. on November 30 for the evening meal.

Sign Up Beginning Monday, November 3 to Live On Campus Next Year 

Current residents living on campus have the opportunity to live on campus in 2015-2016. As a returning student, you may hand-pick your room for next year during Room Selection:  

Same Room Sign-Up: Choose the same room you live in now between Monday, November 3 and Saturday, November 8.

Same Hall Sign-Up: Choose a room in the same hall/building you live in now between Monday, November 10 and Saturday, November 15.

Any Room Sign-Up: Choose any available room or apartment in any residence community between Monday, November 18 and Monday, March 31.

Choose Your Room Online
Make your $250 prepayment, agree to the housing contract terms, and choose your space for next year all online.  You'll need your TechID and PIN and a credit or debit card to make the prepayment.  If you want to make your prepayment by cash, check, or money order, please come to the Residential Life office at 111 Carkoski Commons to make your payment PRIOR to choosing your room online.

Sign up online and send an "invitation" to your friend to live with you through E-services. Don't have someone to room with yet?  Try RoomSync using Facebook to find someone with similar interests, sleeping habits, etc.

Remember, if you are interested in signing up for a semi-suite or apartment with two or more other students, your group should try to all sign up at the same time.  Please contact the Department of Residential Life to place holds on the spaces if not all students will apply for the room at the same time and you wish to place holds on the spaces. A requested roommate space can be held through May 20.

Apply for One of Two $1,000 Scholarships ´╗┐Offered by Chester and Helen Carkoski ´╗┐

The Chester and Helen Carkoski Scholarship Award program recognizes residence community student leaders with a good academic record and who have demonstrated volunteer leadership and service in the residence communities.  Two $1,000 scholarship award recipients will be announced and will be distributed for use this academic year.  This scholarship is available to students living in any Minnesota State residence community, excluding current: Community Advisors, Maverick Mentors and Learning Commmunity Coordinators.

The deadline to submit an application is December 2, 2014.

Enjoy Family Weekend 2014 Events

Family Weekend 2014 at Minnesota State University, Mankato is scheduled for October 31 - November 1. 

Families of current students are invited to campus each fall to enjoy a weekend full of activities. This is a chance for families to meet faculty and staff and learn more about their student's experiences.  With this knowledge, families can contribute to their student's success.

Find Math98 Help Monday Evenings; Expanded Hours


Math98 tutoring now has expanded hours on Mondays from 7:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. in the Carkoski Computer lab. Please join us any Monday for this free opportunity!

Use Ethernet Cord for Best Internet Service

Internet service is better when an ethernet cord is used to plug your device into the wall jack.  Restart your device so it connects to the hard-wired Internet instead of searching for the wireless.  If problems persist see ResTech Services.  Improvements to wireless service are planned and will be implemented in summer 2015.
 

Convert Meals to Flex Dollars Through November 30

Students with the Maverick 160 meal plan may convert any of the 160 meals a semester into Flex Dollars at a rate of $5.35 per meal, twice a semester (by November 30 for fall semester).  Stop by the Residential Life office at 111 Carkoski Commons or convert your meals online.

All Floor and Hall communities plan their own activities and events. It is important to watch for posters and to contact your Community Advisor (CA) about which Social Media will best keep you updated with activities, meetings, and fun last minute events!

     Family Weekend 2014 on campus.

November 21
     Deadline to register for Thanksgiving Break housing.

November 26
     Food service ends at 6:00 p.m.
     Communities close at 7:00 p.m. for Thanksgiving Break.

November 30
     Last day to convert Maverick 160 Plan meals to Flex Dollars for fall semester.
     Thanksgiving Break ends and residence communities reopen at 12:00 noon.
     Food service begins at 4:30 p.m. for evening meal.

December 1
     Contract release requests for spring semester received after 4:30 p.m. deadline subject to late charge.

December 3
     24-hour Quiet Hours for semester finals begin at 10:00 p.m.

December 5
     Deadline to sign up for Winter Break Housing.
     Noon deadline to request a room change for fall semester and those starting spring semester. Room change opportunities resume
     January 26.

December 12
     Food service ends at 1:30 p.m.
     Last day to use fall semester Flex Dollars associated with the Maverick 160 Plan.
     24-hour Quiet Hours end at 7:00 p.m.
     Communities close at 7:00 p.m. for Winter Break.
