Average earnings in the retail sector, 2006

The highest average earnings in the retail sector are clustered in the Twin Cities area, but some rural counties like Wadena, Crow Wing and Nobles also appear to have some of the highest average earnings in retail. Earnings from retail tend to be some of the lowest of any industry. The average earnings from retail for the state in 2006 was $23,981, down from $24,229 in 2005. Hennepin County was the highest at $30,557.
