Economic vitality :
Workforce in farming, 2006

Farming is a significant source of employment in the western counties. These counties have comparatively more land in farming and have productive land, but they also tend to have fewer other employment opportunities (note that southern counties, which also have most of their land in farming, have a lower percentage of their workforce in farming). Only 2.7% of Minnesota's workforce was employed in farming in 2006.
