Average annual unemployment, 2007
Traditionally, Minnesota has had a low unemployment rate compared to the nation as a whole (the average annual rate for 2007 was 4.6%, although the rate has risen considerably since then). Within the state, though, the average annual rate can vary quite a bit. Rates tend to be lowest in the southern part of the state and higher in the northern counties.
