Income & Poverty :
Earned income per capita, 2002-2006

During this time period, the national and state economy went through a period of fairly steady growth. This map, however, indicates several rural counties where earned income went through dramatic growth from 2002 to 2006. A few factors may be the cause, but the two most likely were earned income that started low and therefore showed a faster rate of growth and incomes that were driven by the dramatic rise in agricultural commodity prices.
