This regional science & engineering fair is held at Minnesota State University, Mankato, Minnesota. The website is in the process of being updated; please check periodically. Forms have yet to be changed to reflect the modifications of forms, rules and guidelines. School Coordinators should have the new year's informational packets in the fall. NEW!!! In accordance to Society for Science & the Public, the Minnesota State Science & Engineering Fair is accepting SIXTH GRADERS this year! We understand that each school district may group its SIXTH GRADERS with the elementary grades, by themselves or grouped with the MIDDLE SCHOOL. Hence, we will permit SIXTH GRADERS to compete at EITHER of our regional fairs: Elementary Division or the Middle School/Senior High Division. If schools PREFER to send SIXTH GRADERS to the Middle School/Senior High Division, then these SIXTH GRADERS will compete with seventh and eighth graders. If schools PREFER to keep their SIXTH GRADERS at the Elementary Division, then everything will remain the same for those students and these students will compete only with SIXTH GRADERS. We will offer the opportunity at either level to meet the needs of ALL OF THE SCHOOLS!
The cost per student per event has increased to $20. This increase helps cover some of the operating costs of the fair.
Certification forms are due to our office by January 20, 2012 for the Middle School/Senior High School Division. These forms are available online at: http://www.mnsu.edu/sciencefair/forms
