Project Competition

Page address: http://www.mnsu.edu/sciencefair/school/projcompetition.html

studentThere are several different ways to register. Initially, the coordinator from a school will sign up his/her school(s). This process is available online or a form is available in PDF format to download. School's SF coordinator will decide upon the username and password for his/her school in order to register the school.

  • Online School Registration
  •

Two school registrations will need to completed for schools entering both the Junior/Senior High Division and the Elementary Division. The science fair coordinator will pass on the username and password to each of his/her teachers or advisors. Advisors will enter student registrations using the login and password. Fees for 2010 fairs will be $15 per person/per project.

Preferred deadline for school registration is December 15, 2009 for Junior/Senior High Division of the regional science fair (which would only allow 3 days for students to register projects or research papers - and schools may wish to register earlier.)

Both paper and project registration deadline for the Junior/Senior High Division is Friday, December 18, 2009. No late research papers will be accepted. Three sets of the research papers need to be sent to our office as well as postmarked no later than December 18, 2009. *****Because of the tight deadline this year, we will be accepting electronic PDF files for the Research Paper up until Monday, December 21, 2009 at 8:00a.m. to mary.van-duynhoven@mnsu.edu

Preferred deadline for school registration/sign in for Elementary Division is from January 1 through March 1, 2010. Project registration deadline for the Elementary Division is Wednesday, March 17, 2010.

Registration/sign in of the schools by these dates will ensure the most up-to-date information from the Regional Science Fair Office. Each year we ask that the appointed Science Fair Coordinator complete the school information online.

Advisors should supervise their students' registration forms. BE SURE TO PRINT AND SAVE A COPY OF YOUR REGISTRATION FORM FOR YOUR OWN USE. An email will be sent to the coordinator in confirmation of the registration(s) within five to ten business days after the registration deadline date. Only one registration form needs to be filled out for team projects or team papers. Be sure to complete all the requested information.

Late registrations and payments will be charged $5 per project. Late project registrations may or may not be listed in the program. If the school is participating, all registrations then need to go through that school. Schools where educators are not participating in Science Fair, parents should first check with their school, then register the school, but make the address the student's address and contact information.

Absolutely no project registrations will be accepted after Friday, January 1, 2010 for the Junior/Senior High Division. Late projects may not be accepted for the Elementary Division, unless prior preparations have been made with the regional office. Call 507-389-2849 if you have any questions.
