student projectThere are several different ways to register. Initially, the coordinator from a school will sign up his/her school(s). This process is available online or a form is available in PDF format to download. School's SF coordinator will decide upon the username and password for his/her school in order to register the school.

  • Online School Registration
  •  Two school registrations will need to be completed for schools entering both the Middle School/Senior High School Division and the Elementary School Division. The science fair coordinator will pass on the username and password to each of his/her educators or advisors. Advisors will enter student registrations using the login and password. Fees for 2013 fairs are $20 per person/per project.

Preferred deadline for school registration is December 16, 2012 for Middle School/Senior High School Division of the regional science fair (this date would only allow time for our office to know that your school may be interested in competing at the regional level - so that we may contact you with any detailed information specific for your group.) Of course, schools may sign up right up until the registration deadline of January 7, 2013. Leave enough time for student project and/or research paper REGISTRATIONS - and schools may wish to register earlier. The SF Coordinator should expect email confirmation of any student registration submitted online to the email account submitted for the school signup. If an email is not received, please contact our office because there may be an error in the email address given.

Both paper and project registration deadline for the Middle School/Senior High School Division is Monday, January 7, 2013. No late research papers will be accepted. Three sets of the research papers need to be sent to our office as well as postmarked no later than January 7, 2013. *****PLEASE NOTE: we encourage and accept electronic PDF files for the Research Paper up until Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 9:00a.m. to science.fair@mnsu.edu or copies may be dropped off to the Regional Science Fair Office, Trafton Science Center South 273 (TS273) or to the Biology Department Mailboxes Trafton Science Center South 242 (TS242).

Preferred deadline for school registration/sign in for Elementary School Division is from January 1 through March 1, 2013. Project registration deadline for the Elementary School Division is Monday, March 11, 2013.

Registration/sign in of the schools by these dates will ensure the most up-to-date information from the Regional Science Fair Office. Each year we ask that the appointed Science Fair Coordinator complete the school information online. Schools may reuse logins and passwords from previous years when registering your school.

Advisors should supervise their students' registration forms. BE SURE TO PRINT AND SAVE A COPY OF YOUR REGISTRATION FORM FOR YOUR OWN USE. Comfirmation email will be sent to the coordinator in confirmation of the registration(s) within moments of online submission. Only one registration form should be filled out for team projects or team papers. Be sure to complete all the requested information.

Late registrations and payments will be charged an extra $5 per person/per project for a total of $25 per person/per project. Any late, yet approved registration, will need to be accompanied with payment of $25 per person/per project. Late project registrations may or may not be listed in the program. If the school is participating, all registrations then need to go through that school so the educator knows who is signed up. Schools where educators are not participating in Science Fair, parents should first check with their school, then register the school, but make the address the student's address and contact information.

Absolutely no project registrations will be accepted after January 15, 2013 for the Middle School/Senior High School Division. Late projects may not be accepted for the Elementary School Division, unless prior preparations have been made with the regional office. Absolutely no Elementary School Division project registrations accepted after March 29, 2013. Call 507-389-2849 if you have any questions.
