Sexual Assault - Stranger

On 11/29/2006 MSU Security and Mankato Police took a report of a sexual assault that occurred in an MSU residence hall.

The victim reported that in the early morning hours of 11/07/2006 she had fallen asleep in her room and woke up to an unknown male assaulting her.  The victim told the male to leave her room and he complied.  The male is believed to have gained entrance through an unlocked room door. The victim was not physically injured during the assault.

The male suspect has not been identified and is described as white, around 6 feet tall, 190-220 pounds, stocky or husky build, brown hair and between the ages of 20 and 25.

On 09/24/06 MSU Security and the Mankato Police Department took a report of a sexual assault that occurred in a campus residence hall. The incident involves acquaintances and constitutes inappropriate sexual contact.

The suspect has been identified to Mankato Police.

8-13-2006  

SUSPECT ARRESTED

On 08/13/2006 Security and the Mankato Police took a report of a male that inappropriately touched a female in the Quad area of campus between Trafton and Armstrong Hall.

The incident involved a male party approaching the female, telling her he was new to Mankato and asking for directions. Once the female shared the directions the male party inappropriately touched her.

The male party is described as 5'5" tall, skinny build, light colored skin wearing a baseball hat and shorts. The male shared with the female that he was from Nepal. The male did have an accent.

Since the initial report, Mankato Police have been notified of at least one other female that was approached by a male matching the description in the same manner.

Mankato Police have identified a suspect and are asking for anyone that has information; may have witnessed a similar incident or was approached by a male matching the description to contact them at 507-387-8780.

Suspicious Circumstance

01-29-2006

On 1/29/06 at 1:07 a.m., Security was notified of a suspicious circumstance that occurred on Stadium Road Hill. A female was walking up the hill to campus, as she waited to cross the street a male stranger grabbed her buttocks. The male told her words to the effect of, she better run or he would rape her. The female ran to a residence hall. Personnel from Security, the Mankato Police and Blue Earth County Sexual Violence Resource Center responded. The male is described as approximately six feet tall with shaggy hair.
