Student Health Services can bill to BlueCross/BlueShield, Medica, Health Partners, TriWest, MnCare, UCare, and Student Insurance (Domestic and International).
Insurance-ready receipts are available upon request if you have an insurance plan that is not listed above. Students are responsible for submission of their own insurance claims.
The Pharmacy can bill to most insurance companies if you have your current pharmacy card with you.
IMPORTANT - Please bring your current insurance card with you to every appointment.
The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System offers an Illness and Injury policy through UnitedHealthCare Student Resources. This is for students who are taking 6 or more Undergraduate credits or 3 or more Graduate credits.

The policy cost is $292 for three months with an option to purchase major/medical for an additional $225. The MSU Student Health Services is the primary clinic.
Starting August 15, 2009, we will also have Dental Insurance available. The cost is $83.40 from 8/15/09 to 8/14/10. You can only purchase the dental insurance during the open enrollment period. The plan coverage dates and open enrollment dates are as follows:
Annual: 8/15/09 - 8/14/10 Open enrollment period: 8/15/09 - 9/30/09
1st semi-annual: $41.70 8/15/09 - 2/14/10 Open enrollment period: 8/15/09-9/30/09
2nd semi-annual: $41.70 2/15/10-8/14/10 Open enrollment period: 2/15/10-3/31/10
It covers preventative care and restorations with a maximum of $500 per year. It does not cover crowns or root canals. This plan is available for domestic and international students.
Health Insurance for International Students is required by Minnesota state law. Returning students should purchase their coverage for the 2009-2010 year before July 31, 2009. NURSELINE: Students that have purchased the Student Insurance have access to nurse advice and health information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by dialing 1-800-883-2951. The NurseLine is staffed by Registered Nurses who can help students determine if they need to seek medical care, understand their medications or medical procedures, or learn ways to stay healthy.
