Meeting was called to order at 8:00 a.m. Minutes from September 16, 2006 were approved.
President’s Report: Sandy Nieland began with a welcome. Sandy asked the Executive Board and the Board of Governors to stand and be recognized.
Past President’s Report: Dan Cronn-Mills reported that CTAM on Request has now replaced CTAM on the Road. If you have a specific need for a program in your area contact the CTAM President directly and this will be arranged and brought to your area.
President Elect’s Report: Michele Neaton thanked the CTAM Exec. Board for their support, advice and assistance and offered special thanks to Dan Cronn-Mills, Sandy Nieland, Danny Grossnickle, Dave Warne, Linda Oelke and the Radisson staff, and special thanks to Larry Schnoor for being the consummate professional in making this conference work every year. Applause followed. Michele expressed special thanks to every member of CTAM for continuing to ‘be’ CTAM. Please offer conference proposals and sessions, seek out others to serve with you or to provide a session. CTAM is you.
Treasurer’s Report: Larry Schnoor reported that CTAM is in decent financial condition. The conference has 270 people attending plus 17 people who paid fees but are not attending. The final membership count is expected to be over 300. Larry dealt with some lost and found items and awarded t-shirts generously donated from Graphics Edge. Larry continues to work on the 501C3 non-profit status for CTAM.
Historian’s Report: In absentia. Sandy Nieland announced that the CTAM Historian, Cindy Carver, is writing a history of the organization for the upcoming journal. The archives remain located in Cindy’s office.
Journal Editor’s Report: In absentia. Sandy Nieland reported that the Journal is now on-line and will continue to be so in future. Positive reactions have been noted.
Newsletter Editor’s Report: Sarah Wolter reported that the deadline for the November issue is in October. Watch for further information.
Central States/NCA Liaison: Diana Rehling reported that the two panels recommended by CTAM last year were accepted at Central States.
Web Master: Dan Cronn Mills reported that the web page is up and running. Let Dan know if you would like to see anything else on the web.
Elections: Ballots were distributed and collected for the following positions.
President Elect: CTAM Executive Council and BOG forwarded the name of Cliff Janke. No nominations from the floor.
Secretary: Two nominees for CTAM Secretary: Jan Urtel and Karen P. Wilson. No nominations from the floor.
Presidential Appointments: The Board of Governors is fully staffed at the present time. A warm welcome was expressed to the newest member, Margaret Kitterman. The Board of Governors stood and introduced themselves. There will be an opening in the near future for a SW Geographic Area Representative. Please forward nominations to Michele Neaton.

New Business:
1. Arts Standards Review Committee Membership: Dan Diamond and Karen P. Wilson
2. Central States Adjunct Teacher Award: Derrick Linstrom is on a committee looking to develop an adjunct award and he encouraged CTAM to develop similar awards. The CTAM Exec. Committee will establish a committee to work on developing various awards. Thanks to Derrick for the great idea.
3. CTAM representation on the Arts Education Consortium: Rebecca Meyers Larson and Sandy Nieland expressed interest. Sandy will follow up with Virginia McFerran.
4. Mark Quinlan reported that his term on the MSHSL Board expires next June. Solicitations will be made to replace him. Look for more information in the CTAM newsletter. Sandy Nieland expressed thanks for this work.
5. Dan Cronn-Mills
reported on the elections: Cliff Janke was elected President Elect and Karen P.
Wilson was re-elected Secretary.
CTAM 2008: The Sept. 11-13, 2008 conference will be held in north central Mn with the specific location to be determined. Watch for further information.
Sandy Nieland encourages everyone to offer sessions at CTAM conferences. Classroom ideas are very welcome. Thanks to everyone who presented. All contributions are valued and appreciated.
Passing the Gavel: Sandy Nieland officially welcomed the new CTAM President, Michele Neaton, with the passing of an actual gavel. Thanks to Sandy for her work on CTAM!
