CTAM General Meeting Minutes

Saturday, September 16, 2006, Crowne Plaza Hotel, Minneapolis North

Meeting was called to order at 8:20 a.m.  Minutes from September 17, 2005 were approved.

President’s Report:  Dan Cronn-Mills began with a welcome.  He reminded everyone to protect and defend what we do at all times, to be conscientious and vigilant about this and to let others know about this wonderful field.  He provided specific examples about schools that were once large and prosperous and which no longer exist.  We need to be vocal advocates for our field.  Applause followed. Dan introduced the Executive Board and the Board of Governors.

CTAM 2007:  The 2007 conference will be held in Rochester, MN.

Two new Board of Governors’ appointments were announced:

NCA/CSCA SAC Representative: Diana Rehling.

Journal Editor: Dr. Aileen Buslig

Dan announced that the CTAM journal is going on line.  Hard copies will be made available (perhaps for a small fee).  It is hoped that past journals will also be put online.

President Elect’s Report:  Sandy Nieland began by thanking Larry Schnoor and Karen Wilson and special thanks to Dan Cronn-Mills for his great leadership during the past year. Location changes for today’s conference sessions were announced.

Larry reported that 310 people registered for this convention (including 23 MDTA, 113 MSCA, 43 META, 9 non-members, 28 student grants from the CTAM Foundation, and 10 members who renewed membership but did not attend the convention).   CTAM is in good financial condition.  Current journals should be in the mail.  Larry described some specific costs of the conference and thanked the following hospitality donors: Concordia, MNSU-Mankato, MSCA, META, Graphics Edge, Bethany Lutheran, and St. Olaf.  Gustavus provided the folders for the conference.

Newsletter Editor’s Report:
