Marge Burkett (volleyball coach, 1986-97): Compiled a record of 211-181 in her 12 years with the Mavericks and her 211 victories stands as the mostever by a MSU volleyball coach.
Burkett was named the North Central Conference Coach of the Year in 1989 and led the Mavericks to five 20win seasons. MSU made its first NCAA Division II postseason appearance in 1990 under Burkett’s guidance. Her 1996 team established a school record for wins in a season when it went 26-12.
The Maverick Women's Volleyball Team periodically invites a fan and/or donor to a home match as their honorary guest coach.
Guest Coaches get an insider's view on all aspects of the preparation that goes into each competition. They meet the players and coaching staff, cheer the team on behind our bench, and share thoughts with the team and coaches at our post-game meeting. It's an experience not to be missed!

Dennis Amundson, the seventh head coach in the history of the Minnesota State University volleyball program, came to MSU after spending the 2004 season as an assistant coach at the University of St. Thomas.
