A letter was sent to participants and donors along with a picture and a reminder of the date for next year’s tournament, September 20, 1999 at the Mankato Golf Club. Director Duea had the following suggestions for next year’s tournament: Start promoting earlier and more money allocated for prizes. The goal for next year’s tournament is $25,000. Juel Meyer requested that the proceeds of the golf tournament be used for a full scholarship. It will take three more years to raise enough money for one scholarship. The revenue and expenses from this year’s tournament are being handled by Cindy Hobbs of the MSU Athletic Department.

Tickets for St. Cloud, Wisconsin and University of Minnesota

Athletic Director Don Amiot reported that there is presently a list for people who want tickets to the University of Minnesota hockey game. We were supposed to have 220 tickets for each game but only 140 were received and 40 of those tickets are for the players. It will be first come, first served for the tickets. The bus trip to the game sponsored by Chevy’s is separate. Anyone who wants to take Chevy’s bus should call Chevy’s directly.

Membership and Season Ticket Sales

Cheryl Regan and Don Amiot reported that the sales goal is 120 Blue Line Individual and 120 Corporate packages. At the present time, 115 Individual packages and 112 Corporate packages have been sold. Blue Line Club banners will be changed in December. This will be the only time they will be changed this year.

There are no ads in the Southern Metro Twin Cities area for MSU hockey ticket sales. It was suggested that half-season packages be offered and also to advertise in Let’s Play Hockey with special promotions for 1999-2000 such as "Get five game tickets for this year with the purchase of a package for 1999-2000". Director Jim Bullard has the name of online hockey site in the Twin Cities area where ticket ad could be posted. He will bring the information to next month’s meeting. Ticket prices will be raised next year. Athletic Director Don Amiot will be calling other schools for their ticket prices.
