$26,200 Okayed by BLC Board for Scholarship Support

Since July 1, 2011 the Blue Line Club Board has releasd of $26,200 from golf classic net receipts to reimburse the Athletics Department for scholarship costs associated with the captains of the men's hockey team and the women's hockey team.

Face-Off Dinner

On Thursday, October 1st, 2009, the Blue Line Club's first ever "Face-Off Dinner" was held in support of the Maverick men's and women's WCHA Division I hockey teams. Club members were able to sit down and break bread with student athletes and actually see their faces - no protective hockey gear was allowed. "We actually got to see what they looked like," commented one hockey fan. Those present were also able to get an autograph or two and hear from Men's Head Coach Troy Jutting and Women's Head Coach Eric Means. Cheerleaders and team captains also found their way to a microphone. Stomper arrived and did his thing as well. Click the link below to view pictures taken at the event.

Dues Changed - More Dedicated to Scholarships

Last season the club generated $29,700 in dues from Blue Line Club memberships but this year that revenue stream will be dedicated to offset the impact of scholarship cutbacks forced on Intercollegiate Athletics because of state-wide budget reductions. Hospitality Room food, beverage, and attendance prize components should be maintained as in the past.
