The Scoop

Over the past two seasons, the Mavericks have dominated this series with a record of 5-1-2 against the Huskies, their best record against any team in the WCHA during that span. With a sweep this weekend, the Mavericks will match their entire win total from last season (nine). The Huskies have yet to lose while playing on home ice this season as SCSU boasts a 3-0-1 record at the National Hockey Center. St. Cloud scored five goals or more only once last season, but have already done so twice in 2005-06. In a series highlighted by freshmen, SCSU's top-scoring newcomer, Amy Currier, enters with just three points (seventh on the team). Meanwhile, MSU's top scorers — Maggie Fisher and Felicia Nelson — are both freshmen, with Fisher's nine goals putting her in a tie for third in the nation in that category.
