Mavericks Head End Their Season At College 'World Series'
It took two games against its biggest rival, but the Minnesota State Baseball team won the NCAA Division II Central Region championship on Sunday in Farmington, N.M. Facing Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference counterpart St. Cloud State for the eighth time this season, the Mavericks opened the day with a 16-6 loss, but turned the tables on the Huskies in the final with a 20-6 victory. The win puts Minnesota State in the Division II College World Series for the fifth time, but the first since 1986.

Alumni and Friends,
We're off and running to Cary, N.C and the NCAA DII Baseball Championship. Over the last couple weeks the team has captured the NSIC Regular and Tournament Championships and this past Sunday we beat St. Cloud St. 20-6 to win the NCAA Central Regional Championship in Farmington, NM. We play Sunday at 5pm against Southern Indiana, you can catch all the action including the webcast at:

Once the season is over, we'll recap the individual and team success. This is the programs 5th trip to the World Series (1971, 1979, 1980, 1986, 2010). This year's success is due in large part to our rich tradition and your commitment through our Championship Club. An updated member list is attached. Dean Bowyer Endowment - Goals Reached
The Dean Bowyer Endowment has reached the goal of $25,000. This annual scholarship is awarded to a business major. The McCarthy Family Baseball Scholarship Endowment, which was established to honor Jean McCarthy, former MSU baseball coach (1962-1976), has reached its goal of $50,000.

Weston Weber inducted into MSU Hall of Fame
Weston Weber (baseball, 1982 86): A 15th round draft pick by the Oakland A’s in 1986, Weber was a member of the North Central Conference champi onship team, regional champi onship team and NCAA Division II 4th-place finish team of 1986, He was an NCC Most Valuable Pitcher and a second team All-American as a senior with a 9-1 record and 2.42 ERA (64 Ks in 72.1 innings pitched).
