EDMOND, Okla. -- Two-time defending champion Nebraska-Omaha stayed the unanimous pick in the NCAA Division II wrestling poll that was released Wednesday by the NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches’ Association.

The unbeaten Mavericks, who improved to 8-0 with road dual wins over Central Oklahoma and Nebraska-Kearney last week, received all eight first-place votes to accumulate 160 points in balloting of coaches from around the country.

Minnesota State-Mankato remained second with 152 points and UCO stayed third with 144, while UNK moved to fourth and Pittsburgh-Johnstown (Pa.) fell to fifth. Rounding out the top 10 is Augustana (S.D.), Shippensburg (Pa.), Ashland (Ohio), Fort Hays State (Kan.) and Mercyhurst (Pa.).

UNO has eight of its 10 wrestlers in the individual rankings, topped by No. 1 picks Patrick Allibone (157) and Les Sigman (285).

The 2006 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships are March 10-11 in Findlay, Ohio.
