Minnesota State senior linebacker Jimmie Gunn was named the North Central Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Week for his career-high 17-tackle effort in MSU's 26-7 loss to North Dakota Saturday at Blakelsee Stadium. Gunn shares the award with Augustana's Nick Ovenden.
The honor is Gunn's second of the season, making him the first Maverick football player since Jared Ziemke to be honored multiple times in one season and only the fifth player in school history to receive any NCC Player of the Week award twice in the same season.
Gunn leads the NCC and ranks 31st in Division II with 97 tackles this season.
