Week 1: Successful Semester Suggestions – don’t miss this fun one!
Better study habits create more successful students. At this workshop you'll find out about Linda’s top 10 lists. We'll discuss ways to improve your memory and concentration. You'll learn to use study strategies that really work and can put you on the path to academic success!
 
Week 2: Planning for A’s – organizing yourself and taking control of your time
Ready to achieve your goals? Start planning! Being organized decreases the stress in your life, helps you finish school sooner, and helps you get better grades, which can equal a better job! At this workshop you'll learn how to prioritize your life! We'll discuss planning from a five-year plan down to a daily one and also how to use your planner more effectively.
 
Week 3: Note-taking made easy – how to avoid writer’s cramp
Taking good notes in class makes studying and preparing for tests much easier. For this reason, improving your note-taking skills is a must! At this workshop we'll discuss tips and guidelines for taking notes. You'll learn new systems of note-taking including symbols and abbreviations, and diagrams.   You'll also learn ways to improve your memory and your listening skills when your instructors just seem to talk too fast!
 
Week 4: Textbook Reading – how to stay awake
Do you sometimes read a paragraph five times and still not know what you read? At this workshop we will discuss effective textbook reading. You will get tips for improving reading skills along with memory and concentration. Increase your memory power by making the information you are learning meaningful to you! Attend this workshop and begin maximizing your reading time!
 
Week 5: Healthy Wealthy and Wise – staying healthy financially and physically
At this workshop learn how to avoid the freshman “15” by learning tips on eating healthy and how to fit exercise into your busy schedule. Also, learn about saving money at the grocery store and cheap extra curricular ideas as well as preventing illness.
 
Week 6: Test Taking Tips – just in time for midterms
Ace that test! At this workshop you will learn strategies to improve your test taking and new ideas for preparing for tests. Developing effective test preparation skills will help you gain a better understanding of your subject material, lower your anxiety, and produce better scores! We will also discuss tactics to do before the test, during the test, and even after you finish the test. You will get a guide that you get to keep, of secrets for mastering true-false, multiple choice, matching, fill in the blank, and essay questions. Attend this workshop and start acing those mid-term tests!
