Here is a step-by-step overview of the process. At any point in this process, you are welcome to make an appointment to speak with a study abroad advisor.
1. Gather information - What program or part of the world interests you?
Minnesota State Mankato Search - Here you can easily search for the right program for you and apply directly.
2. Select your program - Once you know where you would like to go, set up an appointment (507-389-1281) and come to CSU 250 to speak with a study abroad advisor.
A. Consult your academic advisor for semester or longer abroad programs.
B. Contact the faculty director for Minnesota State Mankato faculty programs.
3. Complete your application(s) - Complete the Minnesota State Mankato online application and, if needed, the program's application.
4. Apply for a passport - If you have one already, make sure that it is valid for 6 months beyond your expected RETURN date
5. Meet with a study abroad advisor to finalize plans - Make sure to set up an appointment!
6. Apply for a Visa, if necessary
7. Buy a plane ticket
8. Attend required study abroad orientation - Get ready for the experience of a lifetime!
