With the exception of the Swedish Language or Culture courses, all courses listed above are taught in English.
The courses listed above may not be offered every semester, and there may be some additional courses not listed. For further information and advice about courses, consult with the MSU International Center.
MSU Exchange Students are not required to take a language/culture course, and no previous foreign language experience in Swedish is required. However, we strongly recommend that students become familiar with a few useful greetings and phrases as common courtesy. Elementary Swedish (SCAN111) and Intermediate Swedish (SCAN 295) are offered at MSU each semester.
Established in 1977, Högskolan Dalarna is one of Sweden’s younger universities situated in Dalarna, a city of 275,000, 125 miles north-west of Stockholm. The University currently has about 11,000 students coming from all parts of Sweden and the world.
The academic calendar at Högskolan Dalarna is similar to MSU. The academic year is divided into two terms: the autumn term begins at the end of August and lasts until mid-January. The spring term begins in mid-January and lasts until the beginning of June. Both terms lasts for approximately 20 weeks. For more information, please navigate here.
Högskolan Dalarna coordinates with the two local housing companies in Borlänge and Falun. Accommodation is guaranteed, but the location may vary. Student rooms are however never farther from the university than two miles. More information about deadlines, applications, and deposits can be found on the university’s accommodation page.
Study in Sweden requires a residence permit for students staying longer than 90 days. See this page for information on how to obtain one.
