| Program Description | The Department of Health Science administers an interdisciplinary Alcohol & Drug Studies program, which prepares students to practice in a variety of professions within the addictions field. Alcohol & Drug Studies graduates are prepared for career opportunities in settings such as treatment centers, detoxification centers, halfway houses, health care facilities, social service agencies, corrections facilities, academic institutions, and others. The program fulfills the academic requirements for pursuing licensure as an alcohol and drug counselor in the state of Minnesota. |
| Admission Requirements | To declare the Major, a student must meet with the Alcohol & Drug Studies Program Coordinator to complete a program permission form. Declared majors must meet with an advisor each semester to receive permission to register for 300- and 400-level classes. The minimum requirements to be admitted to the Major are:
