Narrator Michael (J. Alex Coe) introduces the characters from his youth:
his mother, four spinster aunts, his uncle and wayward father.

Michael father, Gerry Evans (Craig Daniel Stastny, far left) is not well accepted at the
Mundy home (left to right): Kate (Launa Helder), Maggie (Lolly Foy), Aggie (Megan Nord)
and Rose (Heather Ann Folsom).

One of the reasons for this lack of acceptance is not knowing the relationship
between Gerry and Aggie (background). Foreground are Katie and Michael's mother,
Chris (Megan Gredesky).

Also bringing some tension to the house is Michael's uncle Jack (Jeff A. Smith),
who has returned from working as a priest with the lepers in Uganda with anlikely
attraction to the natives' spirituality.

With the help of Maggie's humor, the sisters survive and even find time for ...

... dancing at Lughnasa.

Listen to what director Heather E. Hamilton has to say about Dancing at Lughnasa:

What is the play about?

What is it about this play that made you want to direct it?

Talk a little bit about the cast and what people will see when they enter.

Are there set pieces that have "extra meaning" in this show?

Michael is both the narrator and a character in the play. How does that work?

Because this is your MSU directorial debut, can you tell us about yourself and a memorable experience you've had?
