The Andreas Observatory, completed in 1990, was made possible
through a $230,000 gift from Lowell and Nadine Andreas of
Mankato. The building houses a state of the art telescope which
was funded through a National Science Foundation grant.The
Observatory is located at the southern end of the Minnesota State
campus near the ROTC tower and the Experiential Education Ropes
Course. Besides being used for classroom and research projects, it
is open for public events during major astronomical events.
