Margaret R. Preska Residence CommunityCompleted in 2012, the Margaret R. Preska Residence Community is adjacent to the McElroy Residence Community. This building was named after Dr. Margaret Robinson Preska who served as president of then Mankato State University from 1979 to 1992. She also served as Vice President for Academic Affairs and Equal Opportunity Officer from 1975 to 1979.

The University’s newest residence community provides housing for nearly 500 students in semi-suite and renovated style housing. Adjacent to the McElroy Residence Community, the community has four halls: I, J, K, and L. All of the modern semi-suites in J, K, and L Halls have two bedrooms and a full, compartmentalized bathroom. Most of the semi-suites house four residents, and a limited number single semi-suites are available. Renovated rooms in I Hall offer traditional double rooms.

The main floor of this community includes classrooms, the Office of New Student and Family Programs, and gathering spaces, with residential spaces on floors two, three, and four of J, K, and L Halls and floors one through four in I Hall.
