Ella Masser is the Graduate Advisor for Fraternity & Sorority Life and Dance Marathon.  Her primary advising responsibilities include Dance Marathon and the Panhellenic Council.

Undergraduate Education: Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Applied Behavioral Science at the University of Kansas

Pursuing a Master’s Degree in: Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology

Graduate Assistant Position Responsibilities: I oversee Fraternity and Sorority life on campus, I currently serve as the Panhellenic Council advisor but will be transitioning to serve as the Interfraternity Council advisor next semester. I am also the advisor for Mavathon. Every week I attend meetings with each chapter president, council exec members, and overall community members. I also work directly with the individuals who hold the philanthropy & community service, recruitment, council president, council management, new member education, and marketing & pr positions on their respective councils.

Past Experiences: I was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority during my time at the University of Kansas. I worked with the Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology lab at KU on research, social media, and other miscellaneous items. Growing up my love for athletics came from my dance career and my brothers’ hockey careers. When I got injured I realized how much your mind and mental health play a role in your athletic performance, this is what got me interested in sport psychology.

What I like best about my GA position: I love getting to work with the students everyday to come up with ways to improve and grow our FSL community. My ultimate favorite is recruitment. Getting to see how excited everyone is when they run home on bid day is something that I hold close to my heart.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, going to my cabin, playing pond hockey with my brothers, hanging out with my dog, Finnegan, and cheering on the Minnesota Wild, Kansas City Chiefs, KU basketball & football teams, and Formula 1 teams. Rock Chalk Jayhawk!!
