We encourage all undergraduates to participate in research, scholarship or creative activities. Participation in undergraduate research will transform your educational experience, allowing you to build strong faculty collaborations, engage with other students, build confidence, and alter your view of yourself and the world.

The goals of the Undergraduate Research Center are to:

  • Encourage students to become involved in an investigative or creative process.
  • Facilitate collaboration among undergraduates and faculty.
  • Promote undergraduate research to both internal and external audiences.
  • Provide funding for both faculty and students engaged in undergraduate research.

Our services include:

  • Advice for finding a mentor on campus
  • Financial support for student research and creative activities including:
    • stipend and supply funds
    • travel funds for meetings, conferences, and exhibits
  • Providing and facilitating opportunities for students to present their work at regional and national conferences such as:
    • Posters at St. Paul
    • Minnesota State Univerisy, Mankato's Undergraduate Research Symposium
    • Minnesota Conference of Scholarly and Creative Activity
    • Posters on the Hill 
    • National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR)
  • Access to the peer-reviewed Journal of Undergraduate Research (JUR)
  • Providing information about internship opportunities
