During the 2012-2013 academic year, the Undergraduate Research Center:
- Offered fall and summer funding to support undergraduate research and creative activity.
- Provided funding for 53 students to present at the NCUR meeting, at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse.
- Provided funding for approximatelly 20 students to present at discipline specific regional and national meetings.
- Organized and hosted the second Minnesota Conference of Undergraduate Scholarly and Creative Activity, with 7 universities and 4 community colleges in attendance.
- Awarded the Undergraduate Research Mentor of the Year Award to Dr. Karla Lassonde.
Key Events:
- Grants: 92 grants were awarded totaling more than $70,000.00 in stipends and supplies to support student research and creative projects.
- Undergraduate Research Symposium: 263 students from 6 colleges participated. There were 171 student presentations and 98 faculty mentors.
- MN Conference of Undergraduate Scholarly and Creative Activity: 208 students from 7 universities and 4 community colleges participated. There were 185 presentations and 105 faculty mentors.
- National Confernce of Undergraduate Research (NCUR): 53 students presented their research at the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse. Students' abstracts can be found here.
