*Brown Bag Lunch Series

Tuesdays, noon until 1pm in the Intercultural Center (CSU 269) This week our topic is "transphobia" hosted by the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Center, and the topic is "transphobia".

*Volunteers Wanted for Vagina Monologues Performance Nights

We are looking for volunteers before, during, and after performances on February 16, 17, & 18. Tasks include ticket taking & selling, staffing the concessions/merchandise booth, help performers & crew, and many others that will come up the night of the performance. If you're interested, please email molly.krejchi@mnsu.edu, call or stop by the Women's Center to sign up (507-389-6146).

*Volunteer Advocate Informational Meeting for the SVRC

(Sexual Violence Resource Center) February 8, 2005 7:00-8:00pm Snell Motors Community Room
1900 East Madison Avenue in Mankato
We will be answering questions about the training and advocacy in general, completing paperwork and discussing the schedule.
Tentatively we will be scheduling training on Tuesday evenings and Saturdays with a possibility of adding one or two Mondays.
There is no fee for this training other than the cost for manuals. We require a $25 deposit.  The manual may be returned at the end of training and we will return the volunteer's check or they may keep it and we will cash the checks at the end of the 6-weeks.

*Auditions for The Laramie Project

The Story of Matthew Shepard
February 14 & 15; 6-8 PM; Armstrong Hall 216
February 16; 5:30-8:30 PM; Armstrong Hall 215
We are looking for dedicated students and members of the community to participate in this performance accounting the aftermath of Matthew Shepard's attack and murder in Laramie, Wyoming, October 12, 1998.  This staged reading will demonstrate how acts of hate not only suffer the victim of the incident, but ripples through entire communities.  Performances will be in the evening on Sunday, April 3 and Monday, April 4 as part of MSU's Eliminate Hate Week.  For more information email sage_msu@yahoo.com . *Faculty/Staff, Undergraduate and Graduate Project of the Year

The Commission on the Status of Women, a University-wide group of students, faculty and staff, is proud to accept applications for two student awards, as well as one for faculty.  The Faculty/Staff, Undergraduate and Graduate Project of the Year awards seek to recognize excellence in research work pertaining to women.
