Kathy Najimy

The Women's Studies Department, in conjunction with the Women's Center, is pleased to announce that this year's inaugural Carol Ortman Perkins Lectureship and Women's History Month anchor event will be "An Evening with Kathy Najimy."  Kathy Najimy, star of stage, screen, and animated situation comedy, is a longtime friend of Carol Perkins.  Ms. Najimy speaks out on issues such as the international AIDS crisis, animal rights, body image, and women's rights.  Her address will combine her political activism and her comedy skills to inform us and make us laugh.  If you would like to read more about her, the official website is http://www.kathynajimy.com/

Volunteers wanted for Sexual Assault Awareness Month

If you are interested in helping with Take Back the Night this April, here's your opportunity. Let's show our communities that sexual assault and domestic violence are unwelcome in our lives. You can support Take Back the Night and Sexual Assault Awareness Month (all in April) in any capacity. Your contribution is welcome as a volunteer and we especially need students to help plan our TBtN. The Student Programming Committee is open to all genders, all orientations, all faiths, all nationalities. Yes, contribution hours are available. What do you want to say about sexual violence? Women Who Rock

Sophomore forward Alanna Wahl scored a career-high 20 points n MSU's 81-71 loss to South Dakota this past Friday.  In MSU's 78-67 win against Nebraska-Omaha, Wahl added 12 points for the Mavericks, who improved to 9-13 overall, 3-6 in the North Central Conference.  MSU travels to NDSU Thursday for a non-conference game with the Bison.
