The research method used for this project will be a one-time interview or survey (your choice!) that should take only 5 to 15 minutes to complete. The Gender Violence Education Program located in the Women's Center at Minnesota State University, Mankato is seeking a creative, enthusiastic graduate student who is interested in working to gain a variety of programming-focused experiences serving students. Responsibilities primarily involve working with students; faculty and staff to plan, publicize, implement and assess programs surrounding issues of gender violence (Take Back the Night, The Vagina Monologues, and others). Due to potential sensitive information, the graduate student is required to sign a confidentiality contract and maintain strict confidentiality. In addition, this graduate assistant will work with leadership development, individual and group advisement, and other duties as assigned.

The group is directed toward women that have experience any type of violence in their life. Some of the topic discussions will include: identifying healthy relationships, tools being assertive, and other topics that the group decides on. The informational meeting will be a time to decide on the day/time that works best for the group, decide on important topics that should be addressed, and to cover important group guidelines that will maintain group confidentiality.
This group is open to any female. If they are interested but cannot make the meeting, they can still contact me and it will not be too late to join the group.

The IMPACT Team is currently looking for student leaders to be board members for the 2006-07 academic year. The IMPACT team selects, plans and implements all-campus events of all types and sizes, from poetry readings and movies to homecoming and major concerts. The students manage budgets, lead groups of students and gain great leadership experiences.
Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.25 and be able to commit to 8 or 11 office hours per week, depending on the position.
We have applications available at our front desk (CSU 173) or I can get them the information in the mail. The application deadline is 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22. I realize the timing is short, but there's still opportunity!

Minnesota State University's Disability Awareness and Advocacy Group (DAAG) and SMILES Center for Independent Living is hosting Central Lakes College's Theatre for a Diverse Population production of Life Is...? The play is written and directed by CLC theatre director Dennis Lamberson. Life Is...? focuses on what it means to be different in a society where differences can be misunderstood, feared, and even hated and is based on true life experiences. The cast of 30 is composed of students from the Occupational Skills Program, traditional theatre students and members of the Brainerd area community. Over 80% of the cast have disabilities and range in age from 19 to 84.
There will be an art show and information fair in the Performing Arts Center lobby prior to the performance from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. The artwork displayed is created by Mankato area residents with disabilities and the information booths represent disability related organizations in the community. The event is open to the public.
