For the first time ever this year IMPACT Cutting E.D.G.E. Films is sponsoring a 48-Hour Filmmaker Festival. For this competition students form filmmaking teams and are then assigned a film genre, character name, and random prop, and then asked to incorperate those elements into their film. The catch is that they only have 48hrs to write, film, and edit their short film (4-7min.) to the final product.
Applications are available in CSU 173 and are due November 13th. The filming will begin in CSU 173 at 4 p.m. on Thursday, November 16th and end at 4 p.m. Saturday, November 18th. The IMPACT Cutting E.D.G.E. Film Committee will then select the top five finalists to be shown Monday, November 20th at 7 p.m. in CSU 253/4/5, where a panel of judges will select the top three winners and cash prizes will be awarded.

Last week, Feminism in Action came together to evaluate our semester plans, discuss our activism, and join in feminist conversation. Our group is interested in coordinating an activist event on campus that will increase feminist visibility (specifically something regarding LGBT rights or reproductive rights); we are in the process of brainstorming for this and would love it if you could join us! Please come help us plan over pizza at our next meeting!**
