48-Hour Filmmaker Festival

For the first time ever this year IMPACT Cutting E.D.G.E. Films is sponsoring a 48-Hour Filmmaker Festival. For this competition students form filmmaking teams and are then assigned a film genre, character name, and random prop, and then asked to incorperate those elements into their film. The catch is that they only have 48hrs to write, film, and edit their short film (4-7min.) to the final product.

The IMPACT Cutting E.D.G.E. Film Committee will then select the top five finalists to be shown Monday, November 20th at 7p.m. in CSU 253/4/5, where a panel of judges will select the top three winners and cash prizes will be awarded.

For questions please contact me at 507-389-6076 or brittney.hansen@mnsu.edu.

Arts Space: a Collaborative Arts Jam

Good Cooks invites artists to collaborate monthly in creating artwork that will culminate in a show at the Carnegie Arts Center the first weekend in April. Dancers, musicians, visual artists, poets, writers, photographers, and videographers are invited to come and work in a process oriented way, gaining inspiration from each other, developing a theme together, and presenting the work as a performance and an art installation at the Carnegie.

Folks can come even if they don't wish to perform in April, but just want to be part of the monthly process. There is no charge to participants. It'll be a playful, low pressure atmosphere.

Dates for the first open studios is Dec. 10 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at the St. Peter Yoga and Dance Studio, Hwy.169 and Grace St. Please contact Lynn Rozen for more information at 388-6887 or fishincat@aol.com.
