Sexual Assault Awareness Month is nationally recognized in the month of April. The Take Back the Night Planning Committee is currently organizing our annual April events. We are in search of survivors of sexual violence to share their experiences. Identities will remain confidential upon request. All survivors will be respected and honored throughout this process. Empower yourself and others! The Women's Center will be holding a bi-weekly discussion group on women's issues, and we are looking for undergraduate women who would like to be involved. It will be an opportunity to learn and to support other women in a search of self-discovery and growth. Topics will include sexual violence, dating violence, stress, self-care, relationships, and other issues. New Mind Body Spirit Discussion Group led by Registered Yoga Instructor, MSU Women's Studies graduate and Coordinator for the 2007 Women and Spirituality Conference, Kelly Holland. The group will meet at the Center for Earth Spirituality's Resource Center 6-7 p.m. Thursday nights in April and the beginning of May. The dates are Thursday, April 5th - Thursday, May 3. You can plan to attend all five sessions or individual sessions. No pre-registration is necessary. The class is offered on a sliding scale $5-$10.
Focus will be on tapping into the wisdom of the body as a spiritual teacher. We will explore how the physical self relates to both spiritual and mental health and wellness.
Come to class prepared to sit comfortably on the floor (bring pillows, blankets, bolsters, mats, etc.) or contact Kelly if you'd like a chair. If you have questions, please contact Kelly Holland at 507-345-7865.
