I was born in Zimbabwe in southern Africa and did most of my schooling in Africa following interests in geography, weather, science, music, photography and flying. Among worldwide travels I came to America for a doctorate degree in meteorology, at the University of Wisconsin. I was a TV and radio weatherman for several years, in the Milwaukee and Chicago areas and after graduating taught at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. In 1987 we emigrated to America (Mankato, MN) and have been teaching here since then. I have a passionate interest in weather, and particularly in techniques that visualize weather, in aviation weather, and generally in things geographic.
