Free Farmers Market for Students and Open House at Campus Kitchen and Campus Cupboard - Crossroads, 331 Dillon Avenue (on the corner of Dillon and Maywood)
In the basement of Crossroads, check out the Campus Kitchen: A program for students who collect food from restaurants and turn it into meals for people facing food insecurity. Student leaders will share quick and easy recipes, offer a tour, talk about volunteering at the Kitchen, and all can enjoy some light refreshments. Next door, tour the Campus Cupboard, a food pantry for college students in the area facing food insecurity. Outdoors in the parking lot, Campus Cupboard will host a free farmers market for students. Bring your student id and pick up fresh veggies. We will have a table with information about food resources in the area. Not hungry? Join in on the Community Engaged Art Project. Something for everyone!

Join us in our new dining center for a casual dinner anytime between 4:00pm and 6:00pm. Enjoy great food as you begin your journey at Minnesota State Mankato! This is the first meal for residence hall students, so all you need is your MavCARD! Tickets will also be available at the door for $9.00. Children five and under are free.

If you’re shy, grab a friend – we love group numbers and crowd participation. A FREE Semester of Bowling or Billiards will be given away during the evening. You must be present to win. New Student Rally in Taylor Center
The official kick-off to your life as an MSU student, this is THE event to be at on Friday morning. The new event will feature a high-energy performance by the “Maverick “Machine” band and a welcome from the University President, student leaders, and more. To conclude the rally, attendees will process as a group and formally “enter” campus as you march through the Alumni Arch near the Bell Tower. The event will be followed by the Backyard Bash. All Rally attendees will receive a “Gameday Shirt” featuring the Minnesota State Mankato Rouser. This shirt is brought to you by MSU Athletics, Barnes & Noble at MSU, FUN.com, Rent MSU, Student Activities, Summit & Jacob Heights, U-Square and Wells Fargo.

The first 350 NEW students to stop by the Centennial Student Union Office in CSU 220 during Choose-a-Palooza receive a balsa wood airplane. Assemble your plane and bring it to Choose-a-Palooza giveaway program at 3 p.m. in the Hearth Lounge. Immediately following Choose-a-Palooza, join a group launching from the Hearth Lounge overlook toward a small target on the Hearth Lounge floor. Closest three airplanes to the target will win. Top prize will be a GoPro camera. Sponsored by the Centennial Student Union. Let your imagination soar as you ponder the mysteries of the universe. Check out our state-of-the-art telescopes and get a close up look at our galaxy and beyond. Meet at the flag in front of the Centennial Student Union on the south side to be shuttled to the observatory. Shuttle will run continuously until 10pm.

Mark your calendars, the first bus departs from Stadium Heights, the Centennial Student Union, Julia Sears, Preska, and McElroy from 10:30pm until 12:30am.
