Power Vinyasa Yoga

  • Do something good for your body, mind, and soul this semester!

  • Give your body a great workout while enjoying the comfort and relaxation of yoga!
  • Classes begin Tuesday, January 11, 2011
  • Some experience with yoga is recommended, but not required. Power Vinyasa is a style that allows us to build strength in our bodies and calmness in our minds, no matter where we start.
  • Instructor Alvina Kittur is teaching at Minnesota State Mankato and has been a longtime student of mind-body practices. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) through Yoga Alliance (200-hour training).

  • Drop In = $4/class
  • Prepay for semester= $45 for 1 day/week or

  • Qigong (pronounced che-gong), means “energy work.”  Qigong is an ancient method of healing that has been practiced in China for thousands of years. This ancient mode of learning to move your own energy can quiet the mind and bring calmness into the body. Practicing qigong empowers individuals to bring healing into their own body and can be an effective method for helping you experience your optimal health, wellness, and happiness.
  • Qigong can help in the following ways:
    • for relief from pain, sickness, disease or injury
    • for relief from stress, anxiety, depression
    • for balance in your life
    • for abundant energy
  • Lois Weber, former Minnesota State Mankato employee, has been practicing and studying Spring Forest Qigong for almost 10 years.   She is a certified Spring Forest Qigong Instructor and Master Healer.

Lead the Pack - Lifestyle Challenge

  • Lead the Pack is Back!!!  Please join Becky, a Sport and Exercise Psychology graduate student, as she guides you through seven weeks of health education, goal setting and encouragement!  Each week there will be new topic introduced, including demonstrations of how to use weight equipment, calculating your BMI, counting your calories, at-home workouts and more!  Questions are encouraged!  Everyone who completes the weekly goals will be given prizes including but not limited to personal training sessions, yoga mats and water bottles!
  • This program is FREE and lasts seven weeks, with optional weight assessments conducted to help you stay on track. The program begins Tuesday February 1st and ends Tuesday March 22nd.  To hold your spot in the program, email rebecca.knutson@mnsu.edu or call 262-325-2529 by January 27th.
