Intermediate Tai Chi students will be practicing on M/W and Tai Chi is a gentle exercise consisting of standing, graceful flowing movements and has been practiced in China for thousands of years. It is widely recommended by today’s health authorities. There has been reported studies showing this exercise lowers blood pressure, reduces stress, and improves balance, flexibility, strength, stamina, cardiovascular fitness, and overall well-being. It is said that repeated practice of the solo routine can retrain posture, encourage circulation throughout the students' bodies, and maintain flexibility through their joints.
This modified Tai Chi form called Tai Ji is easy to learn and enjoyable to do, suitable for anyone of average ability. Employees may want to wear work out clothing for this class.
Watch for this class next semester too! We will continue to learn the 85-movement Young Tai-Chi form.
