Committed to Diversity

Minnesota State Mankato fosters an environment rich in ideas, beliefs and lifestyles

We know that students come to Minnesota State Mankato because they want to help create a better world. And we start local — by making sure we are always creating a more inclusive campus community.

We take our responsibility to create an environment rich in a variety of ideas, beliefs and lifestyles seriously. We embrace the diversity of our academic programs as well as the diversity of our students. We welcome people just like you — highly qualified students from a mix of educational, social, ethnic and cultural backgrounds. And we are dedicated to making this a place where those from diverse backgrounds not only succeed, but thrive.

Minnesota State Mankato has several campus-wide programs that are designed to celebrate and support the unique needs of our growing student population and a long-standing commitment to promoting understanding.

The Women's Center, founded nearly 30 years ago, was one of the first if its kind on a college campus. The Office of Institutional Diversity and Multicultural Center offers conferences, social events, celebrations and support services for the entire campus. And The Advocate College Guide named Minnesota State Mankato one of the nation's "100 Best Campuses for LGBT Students".

The newly renovated International Center is a point of connection and pride for the nearly 500 international students, representing 66 nations, enrolled at Minnesota State Mankato.
