In addition to our WAC activities at MSU, we invite you to explore the rich variety of resources available to WAC practitioners, including:

The International Network of Writing-across-the Curriculum Programs (INWAC), an informal community of teachers, researchers, and institutions, established at George Mason in 1981 and housed on our site until 2006 when it moved to The WAC Clearinghouse site.

The WAC Clearinghouse, the central repository for all things WAC. In partnership with the INWAC, the Clearinghouse publishes a variety of free resources for scholars and teachers, including journals, digital books, a teaching exchange, program descriptions, and much more.

WAC Programs Nationally, a list George Mason compiled and maintained prior to the establishment of the Clearinghouse. To add to the usefulness of the list, many of the descriptions highlight components of the sites that we think might be particularly useful to WAC professionals and students of WAC.

Also of interest, English Next: Why global English may mean the end of ‘English as a Foreign Language’ ( PDF (broken link)), a report by David Graddol for the British Council.

  • From the back matter of the e-book: "[English Next] argues that we are in a very new kind of environment and a distinctively new phase in the global development of English. What are the new rules and who will be the winners and who will be the losers? In this new study David Graddol suggests some of the answers by analyzing the demographic and economic trends which affect Global English and the language policies worldwide which will influence its future."
