Mankato, Minn. – The Minnesota State University, Mankato Performance Series features the Scottie Miller Band Saturday, Oct. 1 at Hooligans Neighborhood Pub, 1400 East Madison Avenue (Madison East Center), Mankato. The Paul Mayasich Band opens the concert at 7 p.m. 

The concert is sponsored by KMSU The Maverick and the Performance Series with assistance from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. 

The Scottie Miller Band is fronted by Minnesota Blues Hall of Fame member Scottie Miller, an American pianist and singer-songwriter born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. His musical style is a combination of blues, soul, funk and jazz. Miller is recognized for his high-energy performances, creative song writing, dramatic lyrics and impeccable piano playing. Miller is a three-time Minnesota Blues Hall of Fame Inductee for Blues Literature, Blues Performer and Blues Song of The Year. Miller also tours internationally as the keyboardist for Grammy Nominated singer Ruthie Foster when he is not performing with his band. 

The Paul Mayasich Band features Paul Mayasich, a natural musical talent on guitar, especially slide. Mayasich has garnered worldwide praise from his colleagues and critics. Publications Vintage Guitar Magazine and Blues Matters UK have drawn comparisons to the work of Duane Allman, Lowell George, Roy Buchanan, Ry Cooder and Sonny Landreth.
